A little birthday surprise - although a day late - for Corrine. Cocoa marshmallow cookies! :]
At Fireside we had a Monk come in and teach us about Monastic life.
Next Jordan and I have coauthored chapter 1 of what is soon to be a best seller mystery/ thriller
And then I learned the history of the Quakers including the fact that they won the Nobel Peace Prize as a people in 1960 and that the Quaker Oatmeal guy is historically inaccurate because he's wearing indigo which they boycotted since the dyes were made through slaves. They also started the underground railroad and UNICEF and invented Graham Crackers and Root Beer. Awesome.

Alright, I admit that I didn't take this one, but I watched Braveheart for the first time tonight! I even got a whole historical and geographical background - including a hand drawn map - from the guys I watched it with. :]

My notes from the best day of philosophy so far! Not only did almost all of our examples involve zombies, but we looked at ethical calculus i.e. turning philosophy into math. What more could a math major ask for! :]

At Zion Lutheran for Vesper's practice, bible study and then the worship service. Takes up a good portion of most of my Sundays. I look forward to Vespers every week with it's much needed prayer and praise time! Currently I'm playing violin for the band, but I've played piano, sang and played bass as well.

Snowshoeing extravaganza with Jamie at Presque Isle on the trails around the island. It was too dark to bring the camera along, so the snowshoes will have to suffice :] It was super windy but once we were in the woods things were much calmer. There's one look-out over the Lake that has a great view of the crashing waves, ice-caps and cliffs.

Today I took my Mom's old Apple Cinnamon Muffin recipe and modified it. I added apple pieces to the batter and sprinkled brown sugar and cinnamon and sugar on the top.
Here's the modified recipe:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Peel and dice 2 apples. Cook on stove top in brown sugar and cinnamon until soft. Set aside.
Combine:
2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup applesauce
2 eggs
Stir in cooked apples. Fill muffin trays 2/3 full. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mix on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Makes 21 muffins.
Later in the evening I went to Kelseys for margaritas, weird cherry and jalapeno chip dip and some classic Disney apples to apples. We decided "My Room" is the Disney version's Hellen Keller card. (Babysitters won this round)
